SEE OUR REVIEW & EXCERPT

“Don’t leave me,” Devan whispered. “Not ever.”
“I won’t. I want this so much.”

Quirky, deeply emotional and immense character depth, she captures human idiosyncrasies perfectly and her own brand of quick-witted humour is always evident. The Making of Jonty Bloom is a passionate, witty, suspenseful and beautiful M/M story which showcases a multitude of human tragedies and struggles, whilst highlighting the strength of character, compassion, love and acceptance.

BREAKING SOUTH: A Turners Artists Rocker Novel (The Turner Artists Rocker Series #3) by Alyson Santso

“I’ll stay and fight forever, the entire damn world, if she wants me to.”

Breaking South is the third book in The Turner Artists Rocker Series by Alyson Santos and all the books can be read as standalone’s. We’ve loved every single book in this series and this latest instalment won our hearts over with its melancholy and sombre undertones. The beauty of the prose, the vivid emotional heartbreak and the inner struggle to find a true self, locked down behind a façade. It felt bleak and dark with sporadic rays of hopeful light-gathering impetus to breakthrough. Oh, how we willed the light of hope to breakthrough. For the storm to be calmed and peace to find its place.

We went through the spectrum of emotions reading Breaking South, from morose, to despondent to hopeful and joyous. Another great story from Alyson Santos!

LIES & LULLABIES (Hush Note #1) by SARINA BOWEN

See our Spoiler free review and EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT from LIES & LULLABIES!
‘Real love wasn’t set to a four-four drum beat in a recording studio. Real love was accomplished this way – by caring for the people who needed you. I would try not to forget that.’

Lies and Lullabies by Sarina Bowen is the first instalment in the Hush Notes series which is a rock star romance, each written by a different Author, about a different band member of -you guessed it- the über popular band, Hush Notes.  Lies and Lullabies is Jonas’ story, the lead singer.

We really enjoyed Lies and Lullabies and read it in one sitting. Small town meets rock star romance, it’s like catnip for us! We fell in love with Jonas and Kira from the get go as well as Kira’s brother, Adam, who’s story we are begging Sarina Bowen to write! The relationship between Kira and Adam was just beautiful and pulled at our heartstrings. Rifts and Refrains, which is book two and Quinn’s story is next and is written by Devney Perry, we can’t wait because she’ll be a hard nut to crack!

THE BLOOD KING (Inferno Rising #2) by ABIGAIL OWEN

‘With Ladon was where she was supposed to be, where she was her strongest, her most powerful, even though it also put her at her most vulnerable.’

The Blood King by Abigail Owen is the second book in the dragon shifter romance series, Inferno Rising. Whilst this series can be read as standalone's we urge you to read this series in order as whilst each book is about a different couple, the crux of the storyline is one that continues. We love a good shifter romance and this series is why. Fabulously written with action, drama, mystery and heat, it feels like pure fantasy indulgence. The world-building throughout the books has been brilliant!

Just what is it about these shifter romances that have our hearts beating out of our chests? We bloody love them!

LOVE HER MADLY (Sex. Rock. Mafia #2) by JESSICA RUBEN

‘When I arrived, I was terrified of Darius. He had taken me from my home and forced me into this life. I know that it’s his fault I’m here.’

We all know that woman are not equal to men in one way or another in most societies, however in Love Her Madly it is quite disturbing how little a woman’s life is valued except for what can be gained from her. Sex trafficking is quite the ‘hot potato’ right now and needs complete transparency so that it can be pushed to the top of every nation's agenda.

The way in which Jessica Ruben wrote this novel enabled us to feel fully immersed in the culture, the sights, the smells and sounds. The imagery was vividly potent. Kids snatched of the poverty-stricken streets, stolen from their lowly homes under false pretences; brought up to please and follow strict draconian rules, be it under duress, violence or even the finality of death. It breaks our hearts to know that for millions of children this is an actuality not just a work of fiction. It is clear that Jessica Reuben has done tremendous research into a very difficult and horrific aspect of human life and with it she shines a naked light on traditions, religion and the culture within which they are set.

KING OF SOULS (Nico & Ari Duet #2) VERONA LEGACY by L.A. Cotton

‘I didn’t want to be Arianne’s prince. I wanted to be her king. The king of her heart. The king of her soul.’

Without question, the love story between Nicco and Ari was straight out a mafia version of a Romeo & Juliet type romance. Both suffering from the forced inability to be together. Family wars, criminal wrongdoings, violence and the sins of the fathers. It’s all there with love as the shining beacon.

“Do you want to know the best thing about falling in love with a rock star? There are no rules. Nothing is impossible.”

Maybe not impossible, but there are a lot of hurdles and hurts to overcome when your first love and the love of your life chooses a life of music and a legion of adoring fans over you or is sometimes the pain of heartbreak a shield that prevents us from seeing the truth?

Vicki James has delivered a sweet, and at times passionate second chance, small-town romance, in a story about believing in yourself; about taking chances. You only get one chance at life, and she reminds us to get out there and grab life by the balls! Another winner in a series we can’t get enough of!

JUST LIKE THE MOVIES by NATASHA PRESTON

‘I would love nothing more than to be with him again. To be his officially. I want him so badly but there is no way to have him and not have everything that comes with dating a movie star.’

Just Like The movies is a new Hollywood friends to lovers romance from Natasha Preston which we couldn’t wait to dive in to. The friends to lovers’ aspect was brilliantly written, especially from Spencer’s pov. This man loved hard and there was literally no drama or angst from his voice. He was such a wonderful character and a rising Hollywood star whose career is just beginning but whose fame is already widespread. How can two friends, one being a movie star and the other an emotionally damaged Uni student possibly have a romantic relationship without the world interfering?
