SHINE NOT BURN (Shine Not Burn #1) by ELLE CASEY

The question is, could I have a one night stand with a man named Mack who wears a cowboy hat to a casino?’

This book has been sitting on our kindle for four years and we’re so annoyed with ourselves that we’ve only read it now. But that’s the life of a book worm. We buy books every single day but haven’t got the time to read them all even though we’d love nothing more. With thousands of unread books on our Kindles we’re spoilt for choice so sometimes it’s such a happy revelation when we find that perfect book for our reading mood already sat on our kindles. Andie and Mack’s story was just wonderful and we loved every single minute. It had hilarious banter, swoony romance and hot n’ saucy naughty ‘cuddle time’.

What a sweet, funny and saucy ride this was, we highly recommend it to all the romantics out there who love their second chance cowboy romances.

SIX WEEKS OF LOVING YOU by KARLI PERRIN

“What’s the difference in being your friend or being your lover? You’ll forget me regardless. So why can’t I choose what I want to be to you?”
“Because I don’t want you to get hurt. I don’t want you to get a broken heart.”
“Trust me, it’s already full of cracks.”

What a sweet and beautiful story! Six Weeks of Loving You is our first-time reading author Karli Perrins work and we adored her words. We could easily see this book becoming a movie as it played out before our eyes. It had a 50 First Dates/The Vow feel, with a real emotional and romantic pull, and the authors own stamp branded throughout the pages.

We loved the humour and banter between all the characters, Karli Perrin has a fabulous sense of humour and who wouldn’t fall in love with the bromance between Spencer and Cora’s sister’s fiancé, Adam? It was hilarious! An enjoyable story with a few twists, where the swoon, emotion and engaging storyline made this a fabulous weekend read.

IF YOU GIVE A JERK A GINGERBREAD (Reindeer Falls #2) by JANA ASTON

“It’s Christmas, Ginger, and anything is possible at Christmas. Have a little faith in the magic.”

If You Give a Jerk a Gingerbread is the second book in Jana Aston’s scrumptiously funny, sweet and sexy Christmas romp series. This novella features Ginger, the sister of Holly from The Boss Who Stole Christmas. These novellas are completely standalone, however, why only have one slice of Christmas cake when you can eat the whole damn thing and guarantee a complete Christmas indulgent satisfaction?!

We’ve completely fallen in love with this town, the setting, the people and the romance of it all. Jana Aston has completely wooed us and we’ve become addicted to everything Reindeer Falls. We just cannot get enough, and whilst we’re excited for the last book, The One Night Stand Before Christmas, which is the last sister, Noel’s story, we’re kind of gutted that this’ll be the end. We could keep reading these all the way through December!

LEAVE ME BREATHLESS by JODI ELLEN MALPAS

“This is me, Ryan. There is nothing else for me to give you, just this. Isn’t it enough?”
I find myself smiling almost immediately, her message received loud and clear. It is more than enough.’

If you’re a fan of Jodi Ellen Malpas you’ll no doubt be dying to flip the pages of her latest standalone, Leave Me Breathless. The trademarks of this author are all apparent, the ones we’ve all come to love from her, but in Ryan Willis, although still possessive and commanding, we have hero somewhat ‘softer’ for want of a better word, and we loved him! In saying that, Ryan Willis very much retains the masculine alpha Jodi writes so well. Ex-M15 and army, he’s the guy you’d want on your side…and in your bed. Phwoarrr, he really is very delicious without being overbearing!

We were certainly kept entertained throughout Leave Me Breathless, falling in love with the characters – especially the banter with Ryan and his daughter, Alex. She really was an old soul and gave us quite the giggle. The closing chapters were especially emotional and a perfect place to end Ryan and Hannah’s story. A charming and at times suspenseful story we adored!

MOONLIGHTER (The Company #1) by SARINA BOWEN

“Are you ready to go to war for her?”
“War,” I repeat slowly. “Against whom?”
“Does it matter”

Moonlighter is the first book in Sarina Bowen's new series, The Company, an offshoot of her Brooklyn Bruisers Hockey Series and the character crossover is a great way to catch up with some old friends.

The meshing of sports and techy espionage worked incredibly well in Moonlighter and we’re itching to see where this goes, and especially excited to learn more about the secretive Max and the girl with all the answers, Scout! We were kept on our toes in a tale with an abundance of romance, heat, humour, secrets and duplicity. An entertaining introduction to The Company series.

THE GOLDEN HOUR by L.M. HALLORAN

'Holding her is my reward….'

A cat and mouse game of sinister turns, suspenseful moments and passionate love.

L.M. Halloran is an automatic 1click author for us, and she's an author who knows how to deliver a dark romantic suspense, ensuring we're spellbound with every twisty turn. The way she threads her characters through various stories, makes us desperate to become more acquainted with each one we meet, which was the case with Finn McCowen, a character we met briefly in the fabulous Illusions Duet.

MISADVENTURES AT CITY HALL by VICTORIA BLUE

‘This man would always be my steady wall of safety. He would be the calm in my storm.’

We do love the Misadventure series; it guarantees hot and steamy passion as well as an easy to read storyline. Victoria Blue writes an enticing story in Misadventures at City Hall which sees, Kyle Armstrong relentlessly pursue career-driven, Skye Delaney. Their relationship was nothing but intense from the get-go and we enjoyed every minute!

Love has a funny way of turning up to bat when you least expect it though, which means hard decisions have to be made by Skye. As always though, love has a habit of conquering all obstacles in the end. Whilst this book can absolutely be read as standalone, we do wish we’d read Misadventures with a Book Boyfriend first, where the characters in this story were first introduced.

THE GAME YOU PLAY (Rixon Raiders #2) by L.A. COTTON

'He refused to give me the one thing that I really wanted. His heart.’

This Author writes the ultimate angst and enemies to lover’s romance. Readers who love high school bully romance and YA/NA sports romance will LOVE this series. It certainly invoked a lot of emotions in us and we were in a love-hate relationship with a lot of the characters along the way. We now cannot wait for the third book in this series.

We really enjoyed the high school dramatics, the soul searching and the sentiments, but we have to say we thrived on the intense angst that was so well written in this story. L.A. Cotton did a brilliant job with redemption and showing that what made the characters act in certain ways did not ultimately define them nor determine who they’d eventually become. Everyone deserves love and happiness because underneath a hard front, a human soft centre resides. ‘

THE CANDLE PALACE (Jamison Valley #6) by DEVNEY PERRY

‘Maybe his feelings for me weren’t as strong as mine were for him, but he wanted me to stay. That was something. That was everything.’

The Candle Palace by Devney Perry was incredibly sweet, romantic and encompassed the purity of humanity as well as its counterpart, compassion and ultimately love. We really enjoyed the love story of Sara and Milo, who we know from previous books in this wonderful series. There’s no question that Devney Perry writes the most heart-warming romance that’s both classy and subtle in its seduction.

The Candle Palace was a slow build romance in some respects, yet it also had an intense and immediate attraction. A somewhat forbidden romance, under difficult circumstances, which builds on an initial act of empathy and understanding. It was swoon-worthy, low on angst with emotional moments of heartbreak and pain.

BRINGING DOWN THE DUKE (A League of Extraordinary Women #1) by EVIE DUNMORE

"This is not a game to be won."
"Well, it certainly seems like a tremendous defeat to let you go."
'Don't let me go.'

What a wonderfully rich, swoony and interesting debut from Evie Dunmore. We’ve been on a bit of a historical renaissance lately and couldn’t wait to start Bringing Down the Duke. The era and the theme particularly sparked our interest, and the passion we experienced was palpable.

Ladies, just wait until you experience the passion and chemistry between Sebastian and Annabelle! It's tangible and felt like a living breathing being of its own!
