WAITING FOR MY QUEEN by GEORGIA CATES

‘The story will begin like this: Once upon a time, a devil fell in love with an angel.’

It’s been a while since we last read a Georgia Cates book, so we were so excited to see this Author was releasing a mafia romance set in the 70s, and a dark one at that. Waiting for my Queen did not start gently, rather it had quite the exciting and powerful beginning.  We were immediately drawn into the mafia romance of Emilia and Luca and were compelled to find out how this anti-hero could possibly redeem himself in Emilia’s eyes. After all, his atrocious acts of dominance and control were not forgivable in our eyes.

RUNAWAY ROAD (Runaway #1) by DEVNEY PERRY

‘My hand pressed against my heart. She was stealing it, little by little.’

Runaway Road by Devney Perry was a beautiful, sweet and well-written story about letting go and finding yourself. Realising what’s important and learning from the past. Embracing love. Devney Perry is one of those wonderful Authors where we pretty much know what we’re going to get when we pick up one of her books; a really wonderful and enjoyable read. This is the first book in a new series and it began ever so sweetly in this light-hearted romantic swoony read. We really enjoyed Londyn and Brooks’ story of second chances which was quite the quick and lovely read.

JUST FRIENDS (Blue Beech #6) by CHARITY FERRELL

‘I love Carolina Adams, and there’s nothing I can do about it because I wouldn’t survive losing her.’

Just Friends is the sixth book in the Blue Beech Series and our first introduction to the people of Blue Beech, Iowa where we meet Carolina Adams , the preachers daughter, and Rex Lane, the mayors son, whose family is the most affluent in their small town. A slow burn friends to lovers.

We really enjoyed our first read by Charity Ferrell and will be lining up to read more from this author. Just Friends was a sweet and sexy friends to lovers story with a twist we didn’t see coming! Talk about a side swipe! You got us good Charity Ferrell! We loved getting to know Rex and Carolina, and like Rex we were dying to see Carolina’s secret unfold. The epilogue was wonderful and made us want to acquaint ourselves with the other characters in Blue Beech from previous books.

THREE KISS CLAUSE by CHRISTOPHER HARLAN

‘Whichever way this whacky thing goes, at the very least, maybe I can show her that not all guys are total assholes.’

The Three Kiss Clause by Christopher Harlan was not only a great romance, it also had hilarious one liners and a great message about stereotyping. The writing was engaging, flawless and full of humorous banter, as well as scorching chemistry. We really enjoyed Tori and Cormac’s ‘fake boyfriend’ story which was told in dual pov’s, so flawlessly. Can an experiment between a publisher and potential new Author prove just why a ‘controversial’ book should be published?

We really enjoyed this romantic comedy from Christopher Harlan and definitely hope he writes more. If and when he does we’ll be first in line to read it, especially if it’s Shoshana’s story, fingers crossed! The Three Kiss Clause was so very sexy, so very sweet and so very funny leaving us with huge smiles on our faces.

UNEXPECTEDLY YOURS by REBECCA SHEA

Review & Exclusive Excerpt

‘I used to roll my eyes at the cheesy insta-love romances that I enjoy reading, never believing that love could happen so easily…..love can happen instantaneously. I truly believe that now.’

Sometimes we just need an entertaining story to escape into and Rebecca Shea delivered just that. In Andrew (Drew) McPherson, she gave us a domineering yet vulnerable and yummy CEO of AM Advertising, one of the country’s foremost powerhouse advertising firms. Drew is not without issues – sibling rivalry and betrayal to name a couple, and Gracie entering his life knocks him for six.

Unexpectedly You was an easy, low drama read. A bit of flirty fun, intense insta-love and lots of hot passionate sex. Lots of sex! Drew and Gracie certainly had fervent sexual chemistry and one very fiery sex life!

THE DAY THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING by CATHERINE MILLER

‘Sometimes goodbyes weren’t hard when it meant leaving a place that had left you broken.’

Catherine Miller is a new to us, author and in The Day That Changed Everything, she tells a story of second chances, friendship and self-discovery, about finding hope and happiness after one of the most heartbreaking and painful events changed her life forever.

The story is emotionally told from a ‘then’ and ‘now’ perspective as we learn the last twenty-four hours of Andy’s life throughout the book, and also why Tabitha is carrying so much guilt, and we really enjoyed our first taste of Catherine Miller's prose -  this author certainly knows how to weave a sweet and emotional story with lots of heart. More a story of self-discovery, there is a tiny thread of romance that warmed made our hearts skip a beat.

FOR EMERY (For You #4) by J NATHAN

‘I’m gonna be your biggest fan, Jordan Grady. You just wait and see.’

We’ve adored each book in the For You Series by J Nathan. They’re stories of love and friendship and growth, and in each book, we witness the characters grow and find love, and in the case of For Emery, we discover a sweet friend to lover’s romance. Each book in the series focuses on a different couple and can be read as standalone’s although characters from other books do make appearances throughout each book.

There is a serious nature woven into For Emery that is topical and poignant, yet this is predominantly a story of childhood friends, first love, family and friendships. And added bonus was catching snippets of past characters from For Finlay, For Forrester and For Crosby as their sports careers and love lives prosper and their dreams are fulfilled.

UNSPOKEN WORDS by K.M. GOLLAND

“We need to talk. You need to yell. I need to let you yell. And then we both need to cry and hold each other.”

By the closing chapters of Unspoken Words, we found ourselves welling up as K.M. Golland's story about fate and a once in a lifetime love, came to a close. This is a love story that began when two souls met at twelve, and despite obstacles and the complexities of youth and first love, they would reconnect and once again their bonds of love are tested.

SHINE NOT BURN (Shine Not Burn #1) by ELLE CASEY

The question is, could I have a one night stand with a man named Mack who wears a cowboy hat to a casino?’

This book has been sitting on our kindle for four years and we’re so annoyed with ourselves that we’ve only read it now. But that’s the life of a book worm. We buy books every single day but haven’t got the time to read them all even though we’d love nothing more. With thousands of unread books on our Kindles we’re spoilt for choice so sometimes it’s such a happy revelation when we find that perfect book for our reading mood already sat on our kindles. Andie and Mack’s story was just wonderful and we loved every single minute. It had hilarious banter, swoony romance and hot n’ saucy naughty ‘cuddle time’.

What a sweet, funny and saucy ride this was, we highly recommend it to all the romantics out there who love their second chance cowboy romances.
