WRECKED PALACE (Wrecked #3) by CATHERINE COWLES

‘We barely knew each other; had only kissed. Yet somehow, it felt as if I’d known Griffin for a lifetime. That he could see inside every nook and cranny of my soul. And with that knowledge and vision came the potential for devastating hurt….’

Wrecked Palace is a story of betrayal, loss, love and family. With  Griffin Lockwood, Caelyn O’Connor and the ‘tiny terrors’ completely stealing our hearts. This really was a story of sacrifice and immeasurable love. The children Will, Mia and Ava entertained us and seized our heart - Griffin and Caelyn captivated us with their selflessness and giving souls and their moving love story.

Watching the trust, friendship and relationship develop between Griffin, who had lost everything when his family died under tragic circumstances when he was very young develop was written with so much care and devotion to the characters, we couldn’t help but fall in love and become invested in their story. At times on the edge of our seat, other times with tears in our eyes and an ache in our hearts, we were equally swooning and smiling.

A VERY FRIENDLY VALENTINE’S DAY by KAYLEY LORING

Another winner from Kayley Loring! Check out our Review and Exclusive Excerpt! Be quick and grab this fabulously fun and flirty read for only 99c/77p!

'There's the flash of awareness, the darkness and the nothingness, and then there's just Birdie, calling me home.'

Well, weren't we just eagerly anticipating this book! After falling head over heels in love with A Very Bossy Christmas (one of our Top reads of 2020). We were suitably teased with Declan's brother, Hollywood actor Eddie's friendship with Birdie Beckett, the Archivist for the Getty, in and couldn't wait for this book! Once again, we've fallen in love with a Kayley Loring romance. A Very Friendly Valentine's Day, was a sweet, sexy, and very funny friends to lover's rom-com. A hot Hollywood actor and a beautiful, sweet nerdy girl. Talk about swoon, and we loved it!

There was so much to love about this story. The train trip provided the perfect vehicle (pardon the pun) for their relationship, the text messages between Eddie and Birdie were an absolute hoot, as was the banter between Eddie and his brother Declan and their Irish cousins. The comedic timing blended beautifully with the romance of the story and the passion provided many Kindle fanning moments.

QUARTER MILES (Runaway #3) by DEVNEY PERRY

‘Why was letting him go so hard? Why couldn’t he love me back?’

Quarter Miles is the third book in the Runaway Series by Devney Perry and whilst you could read them as standalones, your experience of each main character’s story is better enjoyed by reading them in order. In each book you garner a little insight into the lives and hardships each of these women have gone through and how spectacularly they turned their lives around and how they eventually discover themselves, and in the process, love.

Quarter Miles was a nice easy friends to lovers, unrequited love romance with moments of angst, drama, sweetness and passion and when we say easy, that’s no disrespect to the author as it takes a lot of creative spark to make something appear so effortless. The aspect of each main character throughout the series being responsible for heading off on a road trip to return the prized Cadillac to its rightful owner is a beautiful metaphor for the stories.

“Life doesn’t give out a lot of moments like this. Just kiss me. Just kiss me or walk away.”

We will follow the gorgeous River Tate’s lead and tell you three things about this book. 1) It’s a beautiful slow burn antagonist to friends to lovers’ romance. 2) You’ll fall head over heels for the insanely wonderful, River Tate, and 3) You’ll love unravelling the reasons behind the abysmal season of the Braxton College Football team whilst becoming swept up in the sweetness, chemistry and emotion of The Revenge Pact.

THAT SWOONY FEELING (Getting Lucky #4) by MEGHAN QUINN

“I was made to woo, and damn it, I’m going to fucking woo.”

That Swoony Feeling had us laughing, cringing, swooning and surprisingly we shed a tear as well. The banter between the Knightly siblings is hilarious. The Knightly family bond and the small town loyalty and warmth is enviable. We really want to live there!!! This series is definitely for all the romance readers out there who need an escape which brings laughter and love. A place that feels like a warm hug, a place that feels like love!

JUST SHELBY by BROOKLYN JAMES

“Connected to each other, you breathed and Shelby’s heart beat…”

Just Shelby is a complex friends to lover’s small-town romance which has a sense of deep-rooted foreboding and heartbreak. It immediately gripped us and we felt for the characters who are struggling with family rifts, poverty, buried secrets and small-town menacing gossip. Ace and Shelby stole our hearts early on in this YA romance.

The story of Ace and Shelby was so deeply fleshed out, as were they as characters, that despite it starting as a steady beat, the middle of the book slowed considerably losing its momentum, before hitting a fast-paced crescendo of dramatic revelations and heart-breaking twists.

THE DARE (Briar U #4) by ELLE KENNEDY

“I only see you.” He takes my hand, rubbing his thumb over the inside of my wrist. “Just as you are.”

Picking up a new book in this series (and the ones before them) is like catching up with old friends. We’ve felt so connected to all the characters we’ve met and fallen in love with throughout the Briar U journey, and now we can add Conor and Taylor to that our friendship list.

The banter, the passion, the emotion and relationship struggles all part and parcel of finding yourself and growing up were once again apparent in this latest instalment, together with some topical subjects.

THE FIRST SCORE by AMIE KNIGHT

We loved this one! Check out our Review & Exclusive Excerpt

‘I hated how much he made me feel. And I loved it. I loved it more than anything.’

The First Score by Amie Knight was such an emotional and angsty read, we literally could not put it down. A unique take on a soulmate love story spanning years. Talk about slow-burn romance, this right here is the definition of it and it was deliciously agonising and left us emotionally frustrated, but in a really good way. Beautiful, heartbreaking, funny and just so agonisingly good! The First Score covers a multitude of serious issues as well as a delectable friends to lovers’ romance.

Oh, be still our beating hearts, because Oliver may be one of our favourite male characters we’ve encountered in a while. He was just everything.
